MS has a pretty tight showing, showcasing several exclusive titles, social networking, music and movie news. I have watched many E3’s and I have to say, this was probably MS’s best showing in the last 5 years, easily! So much news, so little time, where to begin?

Crackdown 2 is coming (SWEET!)
Splinter Cell
Halo ODST
Halo Reach
Alan Wake (Yes, it’s alive and well and look amazing!)
Shadow Complex from Epic
Tony Hawk
Instant, On-Demand full 1080p movies
Twitter coming to Xbox Live
Facebook coming to Xbox Live
Project Natal revealed

In particular, Project Natal was probably the biggest highlight of Microsoft’s conference- a motion sensing camera that follows your movements in games or simple navigation. But there’s more to it than that. The AI has face recognition and can even carry conversations. No controller required. Very Skynet, very Minority Report. AWESOME!!!

Zune HD Hands-on

Hi everyone! Been getting lots of messages asking about little or no updates over the last week or so. Don’t fear, I am alive and well! Been on vacation and getting to the end of it (bummer) and figured I would drop a new video of the highly anticipated Zune HD.

The Zune HD is Microsoft’s answer to the iPod Touch and will offer touch navigation and function, HD radio, Zune Store access, Wi-fi and most importantly, access to Xbox Live’s large video library. No word on if it will play Xbox games, but some are expecting MS to announce this at E3 next week. In the meantime, check out the vid and let me know what you think! I like it!

New Windows Ad(s) Fuels the Fire

It’s funny. All of these new Windows ads are creating such an uproar with “loyal” Mac users and now more than ever, I am convinced that diehard Mac owners have taken such a large bite of the Apple that they can’t help but be biased.

I am probably defeating myself here since I own a Macbook Pro, but Aidan Malley at AppleInsider is really having a difficult with Microsoft’s new PC campaign and these very successful new ads as he has historically suggested that Microsoft’s campaign is misleading and exaggerated. Hmmm, think, “Hello. I’m a Mac and I’m a PC.” We have all seen these funny little ads and Apple’s friendly way of jabbing the PC and in these ads, Apple has kindly reminded everyone how the PC will lock up and Vista has had some issues, but let’s not fool ourselves here- the Mac does run slow, does do things that you don’t expect and oh my gosh, it does freeze just like your nemesis. So Aidan, before you whine in your posts, be fair and be realistic. The Mac is great and all, but it’s not #1. Because if it was, it would suffering the same fate as the PC.

Crackdown Theme Arrives Tomorrow

Major Nelson just posted that a new Crackdown theme will be on Live tomorrow! Loved the game and think the theme will be pretty sweet.

So it’s sounding like 1 VS. 100 will actually have 101 people, but a few other details have been released. Each week, there are “normal” games and on Friday, Saturday and eventually Sunday, there will be “Live” games with guest celebrities and large prizes to be won. Most prizes to be won will be Xbox games and Microsoft points and apparently the weekday games will be somewhat short, fast games. The One is determined by a point system on how fast you answer questions. The Mob is open for anyone to join in. Lastly, because Xbox Live Primetime is free to Gold members, there are advertisements from sponsors like Sprint.

Overall, this new channel sounds like it could be a lot fun. And as long as they keep Bob Saget out, we’re good!

Guitar Hero Van Halen, Confirmed!

After months of speculation, it’s official, Guitar Hero Van Halen is incoming the second half of the year, likely to hit in August.

Microsoft and Epic Games announced today that Gears of War 2 has sold over 5 million copies worldwide, pushing the the overall “Gears of War” franchise unit sales above the 11 million unit mark. To celebrate such milestone, the companies announced today a special edition of Gears of War 2 that will include every downloadable content released for the game plus “Gears of War 2: Dark Corners” (which will be available separately for 1,600 Microsoft Points), a game add-on that includes seven new multiplayer maps and a brand new chapter titled “Road to Ruin” that was deleted from the game.

The seven new multiplayer maps in the “Gears of War 2: Dark Corners” Game Add-on are:

Allfathers Garden: Honor the sacred grounds of the Coalition founders in this explosive map, where powerful weapons catalyze fast and furious action at this COG landmark.

Memorial: Set near the Eternal Flame, which pays tribute to the fallen soldiers on the battlefield, a hard-fought battle ensues at the Tomb of Unknowns. Putting their flank formation and evasive skills to the test, players will fight to control the Boomshot.

Sanctuary: Once a peaceful ground for reflection and remembrance, all that remains of the Sanctuary is the chill of death. Feast your eyes on the arsenal of weapons available as you make your way through the tight paths and blind corners of the Locust-damaged temple corridors.

War Machine: In the abandoned train station that once served as a hub for travel, players will need to master the Longshot, Mulcher and Boomshot weapons to advance the fight while evading fire from the platforms above.

Highway: Take the fight deep into the Locust Hollow in the complex passages of this underground highway system brimming with enemy vermin. Stick together, separate the enemy and have an exit strategy ready or it’ll be a one-way trip.

Way Station: Sitting in limbo between death and “processing” are Locust way stations filled with fallen COG soldiers. Tread lightly and practice patience as it’s better to sacrifice firepower for stealth while navigating this minefield of hidden grenades.

Nowhere: Set in the middle of what was once a destination for weary desert travellers, the land is now barren and devoid of life. Pick off your enemies with the Longshot sniper rifle and make your way to the stairwell with a well-fortified team during this intense firefight.

I think I would rather see a company like Apple buy Twitter rather than Microsoft and especially not Google because we all know Google would decorate in circus colors. This is interesting and I wonder if true, how this will impact their product line. I can see some serious integration with the iPhone and Itunes.

Anyhow, take it for what it was worth and consider that not long ago Google was going to buy Twitter. So in the meantime, keep it real and go dig into Tweetmeme.

iPhone Battery Pack, $6.99

Great news! iPhone battery pack for $6.99 at Buy.com and one for $10.99 at Meritline. I don’t know about my fellow iPhone owners, but it really sucks when my iPhone is bone dry. Ordering one now!

The Denver Broncos’ 33-year-old Boy Blunder boasted this week that his draft board had fewer than 100 names on it, which made it easy for him to make his picks. Less than a hundred names when 256 players were drafted? Most boards had 500-plus names on them! Furthermore, he said the Broncos had worked out nearly 30 players and all 10 of his choices were among those 30. In other words, “I’m not capable of making a mistake. If I didn’t work the guy out, the guy wasn’t good enough. Period.” This is the same genius who traded one of Denver’s first-round choices in 2010 to move up in the second round to take a 5’9” defensive back—Alphonso Smith. To repeat: Boy Blunder used a first to take a second. And if the Broncos are going to be as lame as I think they’re going to be—4-12 perhaps—that first-round pick will be very high. McDaniels is the worst combination of things: Terribly naïve and doubly confident. Bronco fans, you’re screwed.

Yeah, we’re screwed. Now it’s very clear why Cutler wanted out. I want out too.

ALPR, Wicked

Got this from a buddy of mine in Mississippi. Looks like technology in the police force is starting to finally catch up. I hear that Long Beach, CA police are one of the first, if not the first to use ALPR in the US, behind Canada. Pretty cool stuff!
